On Wednesday June 16, approximately 140 golfers participated in the Prescott-Russell Services to Children and Adults Foundation annual golf tournament which was held at the Golf and Curling Club in Hawkesbury.
This great fundraising activity allows the Foundation to assist vulnerable and nderprivileged children, youth and adults in United Counties of Prescott-Russell.
The Foundation disburses funds in school bursaries for postsecondary studies to youth in Prescott-Russell, funds outdoor activities and summer camps for children who could not otherwise afford them, purchases therapeutic equipment that is not subsidized by government programs for handicapped children and adults and grants emergency funds for members of our community.
Thank you for your great generosity!
The Prescott-Russell Services to Children and Adults Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been established to assist vulnerable and underprivileged children, youths and adults in the United Counties of Prescott-Russell.
The Foundation’s main sources of funds are two annual fundraisers: a golf tournament in June and a “mussels and fries” dinner in September. A total sum of $15,350 was granted as bursaries to postsecondary students for the school year 2008-2009.
A program was established to ensure a future workforce in the domain of social work; bursaries totalling $3,000 were granted to one graduate with merit in each high school and one adult from the continuing education and training centre in Prescott-Russell who is pursuing postsecondary social studies.
The Foundation also supports the agency in its aim to be a good parent to youth who have been under its guardianship by encouraging them to get a post secondary education. The Foundation contributed $12,350 to the scholarship program offering support to young people showing an aptitude for post secondary studies and sufficient perseverance to pursue them.
The Foundation as a partner of La Fondation de La Cité collégiale, has contributed to the creation of a trust fund to support primarily individuals who have benefited from the PRSCA residential services and who wish to pursue postsecondary studies.
The PRSCA Foundation also finances outdoor activities and summer camps for children and youth who could not otherwise afford to attend. Approximately $16,000 was allocated to provide support to members of our community in times of need to ensure that they live the good life. This amount includes $5,850 used for the purchase of therapeutic equipment that is not subsidized by government programs.
We trust you believe in the importance to support our fellow citizens in times of need. Your participation to our fundraisers contributes to our success to support fellow citizens to live a good life.
